Sort of Moved this Blog

I've been doing a lot of work with Silverlight lately and it's totally stolen all my side project time. So all I've written about is Silverlight, and those posts are at my other blog, which is Practical Applications for Silverlight.

Someday I'll have time to pick up another side project again.

Silverlight Projects, they're coming!

If you have Silverlight plugin installed or if you don't mind installing it - I've been doing some work in Silverlight and am getting ready to talk about it. Here's something I put together for EZBurn Service Network. This is to help people see the fuel prices compared with each other.

I'm blogging about my Silverlight adventures, just to see how it goes. My Silverlight blog is here: http://www.faxt.com/blog/

Homemade Baby Bedding Part II

I'm sewing bedding for my grandson, the plans were posted in a previous entry.

The first stage was to cutout the bumper, sew the quilt top, and put everything together to send out for quilting. A very nice lady in Iowa who owns a machine quilter put musical notes all over these pieces with her machine and shipped it back to me for the next step. If anyone needs a machine quilter, contact me through this blog and I'll put her in contact with you. Above is a sample picture of what I got back, quilted and ready for Step 3. But if you'd like to see closeups of the quilting, here's a page: http://www.ourhomemadehouse.com/MachineQuiltedCutoutBedding/
So, Step Three is to finish cutting out these pieces and sew them together. And here are some samples of how it's progressing:
So far, I'm really pleased with the way it's turning out.

Microsoft and the Open Source Community

I am a Microsoft fan. As a Microsoft Partner, and Certified Professional, I have to be. This is a site I just found today, and I intend to explore it, it is
Port 25, Communication from the Open Source Community. I see podcasts and videos and interviews - and it looks like a lot of good information there.

Baby Musical Bedroom Theme

For the curtains, - simple, straight drapes. The quilter will sew both top border and bottom border for us - and that will be quilted in an enlarged music design.

For the bedding, The bumper front will have brown piping and the same border pattern that is on the curtains top and bottom. The back of the bumper will be the plaid that you sent.

The quilt will have large squares, quilted with the musical notes pattern. Alternating plain squares and plaid squares. The back of the quilt will be the striped material.

The skirt will be the striped material.

Happy Sunday

Proverbs 3:5-6

MIX '08 and Code Gallery

I was listening to DotNetRocks this morning on the way to work. Great show with Scott Guthrie revealing some tidbits on Mix concerning Silverlight and the MVC framework. I wish I could go..... But, someone has to work. :-)

Here's the URL: Scott Guthrie on Mix and Matthew Manela on the MSDN Code Gallery

At the same time, they had also the developer who had major responsibility for MSDN's new replacement for the site they took down a while back that is: the Code Gallery. Here's a Url,
http://code.msdn.microsoft.com

It has an RSS feed.
